Once upon a time our Council encouraged us to put green waste in green bags for collection. Then the Conservative led councillors decided to save money.
Step 1 - will only collect one bag per property per fortnight. Now that is annoying enough especially if you are like my neighbour, 80 years old. However, I put two bags out this week noting that my other neighbour had not put any out. But even common sense did not prevail, they left the extra bag with a label on it (above). Notice the label is not green, neither is it red!
Step 2 - there are some sheds on the beach. You may say, you mean beach-huts. Yes I do but they are actually sheds (6ftx8ft). They are mostly occupied by retired people, some by families and the Council decided to TREBLE the rents. One Conservative Councillor was heard to say "You do have the same view as the houses behind you who pay full rates. Yes they do but the houses are huge mansions approaching the £1m price tags and they have full services of water,electric, waste disposal etc and ofcourse are owned by his friends.
