Transport Tragedy

This morning's news that there are five times more lorry drivers
unemployed than this time last year is a tragedy. It is also an
opportunity for us to introdduce a Transport Strategy that both Labour
and Conjsertive Governments have promised but failed to deliver.

On the basis that taking into account the time to collect and offload
the average lorry could travel 200 miles in a standard working day,
why not help the railways to ensure they can do it more efficiently
and effectively. Then our roads would be less conjested, they would
need less maintenance and it would be better for the environment. It
would also reduce the costs of policed and administrators keeping an
eye on them.

What do you think? Any better ideas?
