As mentioned earlier it was an intriguing week. Question Time and Any Answers revealed that the public are still demanding revolution not evolution. Gosport,Hampshire MP of 35 years, Sir Peter Viggers the MP tried "ducking" the issue but was forced to announce his resignation at the next election.
A copy of the Hill Head Conservatives Newsletter was passed to me, it was obviously printed before the news of the duck bo
x had waddled it way into the public pool. Either way what the Fareham Conservatives are saying does not inspire confidence in today's climate. We all do our best but if they cannot guarantee success then why vote them in! Or are they talking in terms of expenses claims!!!
x had waddled it way into the public pool. Either way what the Fareham Conservatives are saying does not inspire confidence in today's climate. We all do our best but if they cannot guarantee success then why vote them in! Or are they talking in terms of expenses claims!!!Then they talk of their success as County Councillors. Now, maybe I am missing the point but are these really what Conservative County Councillors have done, or is it the 40,000 employees.
Now, it is fine to say that the Council leads the country in reducing landfill, but what about the Fareham Conservative Councillors that have just capped the number of garden waste bags they will collect (or should I say their employees will collect) and introduced scheme whereby householders have to buy "Plastic" bags. These can then be collected and incinerated!! The alternative is that householders take advantage of the £74m spent on raod maintenenace and take their waste to the tips.
It would appear that due to Conservative Councillors Hampshire has the best GCSE results in the country, Nothing to do with the 9,000 or so teachers they employ who do not get expenses for travelling to work and also spend 50-70 hours a week working, marking and preparing lessons.
It would be foolish to suggest that it is just Conservative Councillors that try to boast it is all their work. Labour, and I expect Liberal Democrat, Councils will try to do the same. However, it would be nice if they tried to take less of the credit and show some gratitiude for the staff they employ. Especially when this list was opposite another column of what the Labout Government failed to do.
