It seems that our politicians are as easy with our offenders as the are their own. Lisa Healey, was 15 years old when she and a friend tortured a 71 year old woman for 48 hours finally killing her ( Daily Mail, May 25th, Author:Tom Kelly).
The Prison Service, having let her serve 11 years, made it possible for her spend weekends in a hotel with a male convict, resulting in a pregnancy. The male offender drove his car, that he keeps at the his jail, to meet her whilst serving four years for running a cannabis factory in his home.
What message does this send to potential offenders. Is it no wonder teenage crime is on the increase. Is it no wonder they cannot differentiate between right and wrong. No doubt they a re claiming child benefit!
What should we do with drug merchants and murders? Is this rehabilitation gone mad? HAve they attended work and education classes to provide for themselves when they are released or do they continue to live off the state? Let me know what you feel.
