Big Society or Big Con! Broken Promises

In 1979 Conservaties promised they would not double VAT, then they put it up from 8% to 15%. In 1992 Conservatives said they would not widen the scop of VAT, a year later they zero rate fuel and power.

The IFS reported that for each £5 they use, the Conservatives will get £4 by cutting public Services. No Government has managed this, not even Margaret Thatcher. So how else will they get the money to fud the cut in inheritance tax and NI; put up VAT.

Liam Fox could not say "No we will not put up VAT" last week on queston Time because he knew that was their secret weapon.
