Do away with Party Politics, let's have all independent MP's. We all want our MP's to represent us, not a party. After all they all claim to be middle of the road so what is the point.
Government can provide funding via County Councils so any individual can apply to become an MP. There can be an application criteria (such as showing support from local people). We vote for the person we want - not what the parties offer - and the winner becomes our MP.
With the right support we could even cut the number of MP's to one per county and then they would not have to stand up in the Houses of Commons due to lack of seats!
Then decisions would be made on the basis of independent thought not party thought and not to impress the Prime Minister or in aid of promotion.
