The Swines

Sorry I missed a couple of days but my wife had major operation on her stomach last Friday and it has been a rush feeding the cats, work and visiting thed hospital.
Just after midday my wife called. She was sitting in the hospital reception waiting for me to collect her having been kicked out of bed this morning because the doctor said she was well enough to go home.

Whilst the NHS are telling us on the TV that we whould sneeze into a handkerchief and wash our hands afterwards to fend off the chance of catching Swine flu, their staff are turfing my wife out of her bed, with chronic diarhea, no coat and no warning.

Needless to say I created hell. It would be easy to blame the staff but, whilst some of them are failing to provide the duty of care they should, management's apparent focus on targets results in processes that creates staff who are working for paper rather than for patients.

In this case it has nothing to do with money, equipment, or drugs just straightforward patient care and communications, both lacking more and more these days.

Have you had any experiences like this, do let me know and I will take it up with the Health Minister.

Meanwhile in the House it's more like a children's party. The boys are voting on their pocket money and the girls are rushing around wiping everything with their wet wipes to avoid catching something from the Swine pandemic.

what's are your thoughts on MP' expenses. Does your organisation let you buy things without receipts?
