Backward Education

Our politicians continually play with our education but have they taken us backwards or forwards?

When I was at school in the 50's we had metal workshops, wood workshops, technical drawing offices and domestic science kitchens, it was called a Secondary Modern or Comprehensive School. You could choose to leave at 15, stay on. You could choose a technical programme, Commercial or General route.

Somewhere along the way its seems the Conservatives got rid of this and Labour brought it back in the form of Academies.

No wonder education is in a state with this seesaw approach.
