The Phoenix Philandering Failures

John had a pet dog called Rover that he had bought for a mere £10. Rover's previous owner was a wealthy German and gave John £500m dowry to help John look after the dog.The dog also had a kennel worth £740m. The reason John came to own such a valuable dog was because the German owner could not control him but, with the right owner, it was capable of winning lots of money as it was from a successful pedigree.

Although John had previous experience of looking after dogs, he now had access to lots of money and lacking entrepreneurial skills and, being a bit of a philanderer (in love with himself), he decided to become what the Financial Times called "the ugly face of captalism". John stashed away £40m and pretended he was training Rover.

When his lack of appropriate skills came to light he abandoned Rover and took his nest egg to faraway France to live a life of luxury.

Meanwhile Rover was left to die of starvation.
